Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 19, 2026
This policy explains what information senior.living.community (the “Site”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: the Site is built to collect as little as possible. You can read every directory listing and every guide without creating an account, without being tracked by us, and without telling us anything.
What we collect
No profiles or ad tracking, for browsing. There is no account system, no newsletter, no login, and we do not intentionally build browsing profiles or run advertising analytics. Our hosting, security, and network providers may process technical data needed to deliver and protect the site (see below). Our cost calculator and worksheets run entirely in your browser - nothing you type into them is sent to us or anyone else. To make them useful across visits, your entries are stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device; they never reach us, clearing your browser data removes them, and each worksheet has a “Clear saved answers” button.
What you choose to send us:
- Community questionnaires and listing claims. If you represent a senior living community and submit a questionnaire or claim a listing, we collect what you provide: your name, job title, work email, your community’s identity, and your answers. We use it to verify you and to build your community’s listing. Published answers are attributed on the listing with your name, title, and submission date - that attribution is part of what you agree to in our Terms.
- Email you send us. If you email us - a correction, a question, a claim request - we receive your address and whatever you include, and we use it to respond and to fix what you reported.
Collected automatically, by infrastructure: our hosting and content-delivery providers keep standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) to operate and secure the service, as essentially every website’s infrastructure does. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.
How form submissions travel
Questionnaire forms on the Site are delivered to us by a third-party form-forwarding service (FormSubmit), which transmits your submission to our private email. We use submissions only to respond to you and to build the listing; the forwarding service processes your submission in transit under its own terms, which we encourage you to review. Submissions are private in the sense that we don’t publish anything you send until we have verified you and prepared the listing content with you.
Service providers we rely on
We keep the list of third parties short and name them so you know who can process data:
- Cloudflare - hosting and content delivery. Processes technical request data (including IP address) to serve and protect the Site.
- FormSubmit - forwards questionnaire and correction submissions to our private email.
- Email provider - receives and stores the messages and submissions you send us.
We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or data brokers. If this list changes, we will update this page. For a privacy request, email listings@senior.living.community.
How we use information
- To verify that a person claiming a community listing actually represents that community (including checking the state license record and calling the community’s published number)
- To build, correct, and attribute community listings
- To respond to questions and correction reports
- To operate and secure the Site
That’s the whole list. We do not sell or rent personal information - to anyone, ever - and we do not share it with listed communities or advertisers, run marketing lists, or use submitted information for any purpose other than the ones above.
Sharing
We share information only with: (a) service providers who help operate the Site (hosting, form delivery, email), who may use it solely to provide the service; (b) authorities, if a valid legal process requires it; and (c) a successor operator if the Site changes hands, in which case this policy continues to apply to already-collected information.
Retention and deletion
We keep community submissions while the listing is live so we can attribute and re-verify content, and correspondence for as long as it’s useful for running the Site. You can ask us at any time to correct or delete information you sent us, including removing your name from a listing’s attribution - email listings@senior.living.community and we’ll confirm when it’s done.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, and to know what has been collected about you. Since we collect only what this policy describes, the answer will be short - but we honor these requests regardless of where you live. Email listings@senior.living.community. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by those laws, so there is nothing to opt out of. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.
Children
The Site is written for adults researching senior care and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16; if you believe a child sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party sites
Links on the Site - government databases, review platforms, community websites - lead to sites with their own privacy practices, which we do not control. What you do there is governed by their policies, not this one.
Security
Submissions travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to what you send us is limited to the people who run the Site. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but there is also very little here to breach: we hold no accounts, no passwords, and no payment information.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here with a new effective date; material changes will be noted on this page. Questions or requests: listings@senior.living.community.
